Random Football Observations

- The best thing to come out of the Eagles 38-17 loss at home to the Cowboys was my friend Dan's query as to "[h]ow it's possible to stick 89 pills up your ass." One person who can answer that question is Garrett Reid, who was ratted out by his cell mate in Montgomery County jail after being sent up for 2 years last week. That's right, after being convicted of heroin-induced DWI and spending time in jail for violating terms of your release by doing more drugs, you decide to jam a bunch of pills into your butt and walk into jail?

- Also on the Iggles front, the latest loss has strengthened my resolve. The Missus saw the score at one point and asked if this meant I was going to be in a bad mood. Well, obviously. But it won't mean that I'm going to abandon the team. In fact, I'm going to sign a notarized statement at the office today that I will maintain my fanship regardless of the Eagles' continued craptacular performance. I will scan and post this for future reference. (Hell, I might even take it as a good sign if I were still in Philly. After all, I would be that much closer to season tickets.)

- Patriots v. Colts was good, but not quite the epic battle most expected (or the 60 point shootout I predicted). Still, the better team won and hopefully we will get to see the folks from the '72 Dolphins finally get their comeuppance. If they do go 19-0, the Patriots will at least have the benefit of being able to say they played at least four good teams in the regular season (Dallas, Indy, Pittsburgh, NY Giants), something that, for all the bluster about being undefeated, is a hard argument for the '72 Dolphins to make.

- What was up with Indianapolis' continued use of fake crowd noise yesterday? The curtain was pulled back again at the start of the 4th with a completed pass to Randy Moss. The audio of the crowd noise suddenly started to skip, strangely like my CD player trying to play my scratched up Spin Doctors CD (Crap. Did I just say that or think that?) Well, I'm no audio engineer, but it wasn't a CD skip, it was the microphones picking up the output of the speakers (or something like that). Indy denied doing this in 2005 but were threatened with the forfeiture of draft picks, etc. if it happened again. Does Goodell make this defeat a double whammy?

Pills in the butt, ha ha ha you are so funny. Where do you come up with this stuff.

Why don't you post something important like when you and Mrs. Vez are making it official?
